The Mystery of the Grinning Buddha is the first book in the Millerville Mysteries: Join Mike and Brandon as they unravel the mysteries surrounding the unexpected, unwanted visit of Mike’s so-called Aunt Thelma, who takes control of Mike and his siblings while their mother is in bed with the flu and their father is working in the Alaskan bush. Aunt Thelma is obsessed with finding a package the mail man dropped off at the house the day the book begins. When she can’t find the package, she enlists Mike and his siblings to search the old mansion in which they live–top to bottom. When it still can’t be found, Aunt Thelma begins to terrorize the children.
